wir bereiten Pj.X zurzeit vor, an den Benutzerschnittstellen multilingual zu werden. Ohne Übersetzung in div. Sprachen wäre das natürlich unnütze Mühe.

wer also bereit ist, eine solche Aufgabe freiwillig zu übernehmen, kann seine Absicht in diesem Thread kundtun, mit Angabe der gewählten Sprache.

deutsch bekommen wir noch hin.. :wink:

wenn es soweit ist, werden die zu übersetzenden Resource-Dateien hier ladbar sein.

so, we're looking for anybody who can provide some help in translation.
don't hesitate to declare your intention in this thread and add the language you wonna translate.

FYI:
a possible translation totally depends on the intended audience.
So when there's no one who needs a special translation, why should someone translate the stuff then..

a translated string value can be saved in unicode format, too:

Hi,

So if you are looking for ProjectX translator, I can offer you my help with translating it into Czech (could be used by Slovaks too, as the languages are very similar and most of the forums covering video are visited by both). I can handle translation from English and in the worst case from German too - I have learned that some years ago but rarely used it, so I forgot most of it not to mention the "special" video related terms... But with a help of a dictionary I can handle that too.
Besides - I think ProjectX is fabulous and wanted to express my gratitude to you by offering some help.

I'll translate it to Swedish. Please tell me what to do. I suppose that I start off with translating pjxresources_en.properties to pjxresources_sv.properties. I my exercise of my profession, I do quite a lot of translation and proof-reading, besides the Java programming, so I hope that the quality will be sufficient.

I do understand that I put an ampersand (&) before the character that should be underlined implying that the option can be selected with <alt>-<character> and that I should use the typical characters used in Swedish programs in general.

I don't understand how to get the new language drop-down menu working. Right now I only get a "System default" option, but I do see a Danish, a German and the English resource files.

By the way, is there an option to get the DVBTechnics Forum dialogs in English?

hmm,
the language menu grows automaticaly with the available files, so if you add 'your' file (into the .jar or in the working_dir besides the .jar), it will appear, where english is required (otherwise you'll see nothing)

By the way, is there an option to get the DVBTechnics Forum dialogs in English?

btw:
there're already updated versions of language files.
but at first we should solve the access problem..
(start pjx in the cmdl with 'java' to see the appearing error messages)

Thanks, it was a working directory problem. I use classes directly having the bin and resource directories in my classpath. My working directory was the one above bin and resources but is now changed down to the resources directory and I copied my X.ini to that directory, too. Works like a charm now.

Back to the original question. What do I do in order to translate? Just making a one-to-one translation of pjxresources_en.properties? How do I deliver? In this forum? Off forum? At Sourceforge? CVS somewhere?

I still owe you one, extracting the subpicture and teletext streams from recorded program with multi-colored text. Sorry for that delay.

I think so.
here you'll find the latest resource files (e.g. if changed after a release).
use this as source for now..

after completion, just upload it somewhere or send a PN.
then we will add your file to the mentioned link above and/or next release.
